Keyboard
The Elotype 5 is an electronic Braille machine with a smooth-running and ergonomic Braille keyboard. All the functions of an electronic typewriter are available, e.g. tabulator, margin setting, variable line spacing. The machine can write 6- and 8-point Braille. With the Elotype 5 Braille keyboard, you can write directly to your PC monitor using a terminal programme. It is also possible to save the text in a file.
Display
With the help of the attachable keyboard, you can enter black text into the machine, which is then embossed directly into Braille. Sighted people can read the entered text on an integrated display. The display shows two lines of 20 characters each.
Operation
The Elotype 5 can be switched to one-handed operation. This makes it possible to operate the Elotype with one hand or even one finger.
Printer
The Elotype 5 can be connected to a PC via the USB port as a Braille printer. Texts can be printed on single sheets or continuous tractor-fed paper.
Graphics printing
The Elotype 5 is capable of printing drawings with great precision. Together with the latest ‘TactileView’ software, graphics can be created and imported. Once the images have been converted to dot matrix using the software, they are printed via the USB interface.
Foil printing
